After so many images featured in the Showcase section of Outdoor Photographer, Marc finally got one of his stunning shots on the cover! Congrats!!! My only question is, what took 'em so long to recognize the beneficial power of your images to sell magazines?

Thanks, Todd. I appreciate it. Funny how they flipped the image for the cover and showed the strait one on the inset inside. Gotta get in all that hype on there too somehow. The color looks good though.
Canon recently decided recently it would be a good advertising move to use my images too....more on that some other time.

Thanks for pointing out who is the photographer. OP does a nice write up about the cover, but it is buried a few pages back, so I rarely read it. I opened my copy of the magazine today - it was time to respond to the final notice, sigh. Anyhow, Marc, congratulations on the cover. It is a beautiful shot, flipped or not.

Goodness, I visited Marc Adamus's site.
Wow, wow and wow. I don't subscribe to this magazine but I bet the photo is great.
I went to the site listed. Not only is the photography superb but "He (Marc) was there". I can't imagine the time, and sometimes luck, it took to be in a place where light and all the features of "ambiance" come together. "Be there" certainly is a feature of his photos. Marc, I wish you were my neighbor so I could sap all (maybe only some) of the stuff you know and do...

Marc, as usual outstanding work and I agree it is about time! Glad to hear Canon is giving you some recognition as well. You work really inspires me!

I was wondering the same thing. I keep thinking the when you're as famous as Art Wolf and Galen, we can say we know him when...

Congrats, Marc! A well deserved honor. I am out of town for the next couple days, so I don't have my OP with me. I'm dyin' to know which one of your images graced the cover, though.?
Posted by Marc Adamus on September 11, 2008 at 4:04 PM
It's and oldie. A classic composition from Seal Rocks at sunset with a small pool in the foreground. Not one of my best IMO, but it's what fit for the cover I guess. Thanks.

As the others have said - "It's about time!". I get a kick out of scanning the "All Photos" gallery link on the NPN forums and being able to instantly pick out your shots before seeing the name of the contributor. There is just a quality and feel that is rarely matched.
Your new web site is top notch as well - beautiful layout, simple to navigate and showcases your stunning photography very nicely!
Congratulations!!

Opened my copy last night and saw Marc's image. I'd actually like to see a column in OP by you, Marc. I think your perspective on what it takes to make these images would be both enjoyable and valuable.
Congratulations Marc! I'm still waiting for my copy. I agree, it's about time!

Congratulations Marc. My copy is super delayed in arriving, but as soon as I saw the photo I knew it was yours. Recognition well deserved. I look forward to hearing more about the Canon news.
