Thus far, the folks that have expressed an interest in a fall gathering are: Tom Kennon, John Moore, Rod Kissinger, Ed Cooley, and myself. Like Rod said in the previous thread, the sooner we set a date, the better it will be for everybody to plan accordingly. If anyone else wants to join us, feel free to chime in anytime.
As most of you know, fall color typically peaks near the last weekend in October for many areas in the Ozarks. However, I just read on Tim E's Cloudland Journal that the trees are starting to take on an overall yellow tone, so we may have an early fall this year. The cooler temps we've had all year would seem to suggest that. So, what do you guys think...the 24th - 26th of October?
Camping location? The only place that I have reservations about when it comes to camping is Steele Creek...just too many people in a cramped area and much of it without shade. Plus, it is quite a ways from Richland Creek. However, I think it might be best to wait and see how the fall color is progressing and where the best color is, then make a decision on where to camp a few days before the 24th. Fairview (near Pelsor or Sand Gap) and Haw Creek might be good options, with Fairview being a little more centrally located to the Buffalo and Richland Creek areas. If those areas are full, we could always opt for a place along Falling Water Creek road, or along the county road north of Richland Creek CG. I've done enough river camping that picnic tables and bathrooms seem like a luxury to me, but can understand if others might have a problem not having those amenities.
I'll do Saturday breakfast/brunch. Any takers on the other meals? Comments/suggestions?

Bill, put me down for lunch. I agree on the camping options. Fairview would certainly be a good option if we want to be close to the Richland area and need picnic tables etc. I am pretty flexible also and there are many good spots along Falling Water or Richland Creek.

Hi Bill, thought I better at least chime in for now, I know you are trying to get some plans put together. I'm going to have to say at least as of now I'm going to have to pass the end of Oct for the gathering.
It's plenty of notice and if some things change I will let you know soon as possible.
Thanks Bill.

Brad and Merle - sorry you guys won't be able to make the gathering. You guys contribute a lot to the forum and I will miss visiting with you. See you in the spring maybe...

Bill, thanks for getting this going. I am afraid that with my schedule I won't be able to come down for the fall gathering. I really wish I could make it this year but it's not in the cards. Let me know if I can do anything to help with organizing the event though. Thanks!

I'm teaching a weekend workshop, as always when you do these, but I bet we cross paths somewhere during the weekend - I'll be the one in a group of photographers without a camera!...

Have a great outing. I wish I could make it down, but it's not going to happen this year :(.

If I'm free for the 24th - 26th, I'd love to make the fall gathering. It's been years since I've been camping... I'll let you know if a week or two.
