Mineral King, Sequoia National Park
I usually avoid descriptive place names... but we spent the night near the lake without any significant blood loss.

Very nice relection and foreground rocks. I also really like the background scene and overall composition.
Is this a long multi day hike to the lake?
I think I would like to see this same scene with some more dramtic sky - maybe first light or sunset with some weather. That could take it to the next level IMO.

Thanks for commenting Derek, I have sunset and pre-dawn shots of this lake too.
I think that tiny cloud was the extent of our "weather" that weekend.
This is pretty much how it looks when you arrive. I am always fascinated by the crystal clear water of these high mountain lakes and that's mostly what I am trying to show here.
This lake is only 4 miles from the road, it makes for a nice day hike or leisurely over night destination.
WOW, what pristine water. The image allows us to see at least 25 feet or more off shore here. An amazing site.
So far as the descriptive name of Mosquito Lake #2, would be a good reason for me to review the location on line here as I am. If things can bite, they will find me no doubt.

A very interesting photograph, Michael. I like how you have worked the composition such that the stuff under water matches and complements the rest of the scenery.

Well that lone cloud is tenfold the amount of clouds I saw on my recent Sierra trip. I think you did well to minimize the cloudless sky and place much of the emphasis on the nice reflection and those wonderful logs that lead the eye into that Sierra scenery. Nice work!
