Newfound Gap Shale 4
OK all, here is the last of the group that I can easily work up. I have a fourth but I got a significant light leak on the LF camera and haven't figured out how to fix it in PS .... anyone who has better PS chops than I do and has a suggestion would be appreciated.

Anyway, I was intrigued by this small spot because the look was somewhat different than the other two I've already posted. This is all I have from this spot right now unless I can correct the fourth one.....

(Hey Joel - 3 images in a week. I'm exhausted!! )

Hi Christopher,

I think that this one is my favorite - great work!

I like the lines in the rock but I like the colors in the others you have posted better.

BTW- I see a seal in the lines.

This is really nice CJ - the colors and lines are wonderful. But, if I had to choose one for my wall I'd go with #1 because of its complexity.

BTW, I notice a very subtle "J" at the upper left thirds point. Subliminal message from mother nature?

Another good capture of the shale, CJ. #1 is still my favorite, though...so far!

The dark patches almost seem like calligraphy. I prefer the colors of the last one you posted, but this isn't to shabby either! Just a different take. Thanks for sharing this series, it's been enjoyable to see some of your more recent work.

CJ - I just read your comment about the light leak on your camera (yuck - the bellows I assume). I don't know if you've scanned that transparency yet, but it would be interesting to see what could be done, and how severe the damage is. If it's isn't to bad, it may be possible to repair it with some localized work.

Hey all, thanks again for all the comments and discussion of this group of images. I really enjoyed shooting them, and sharing them has been fun too. Of the ones posted I agree with the general comments that #1 is my favorite as well....

Hey Ken - saw the "J" and that's cool....now I gotta find a "C" somewhere!

Joel, interestingly enough, my favorite of all the compositions is the unposted #2, which has the light leaks. I have scanned it and tried to correct it, but I haven't figured out how to do that. I'd be very interested in your take on the image - would you be open to me sending a small file so you can see it and let me know what you think?? Email offline if so.....

Thanks again all.....CJ
