This shot is from Huntsville (AL) using a CANON Rebel XT with settings at f/5.6, ISO 100, shutter of 1/60, and the (kit)lens at 55mm.

That's a beautiful sunset. I hope you post more.
One gentle suggestion - you migt try cropping off quite a bit of the upper sky, because not too much is happening there. I think the crop will make the image more dynamic.
