Little Colorado River (again)
I'm still catching up on the scanning of my GC rafting trip photos, and am still enamored with the Little Colorado River. ;)

Pentax 67II, 55mm lens, polarizer, Velvia 100

I like it! You don't see nearly enough quality shots from the LC, and it's a world-class location. This shot captures a lot of its appeal, too, with a killer terrace and the juxtaposition of the milky blue water and red walls. However, the shadowed part of the terrace at the left isn't doing it for me. Likewise, if the left wall could be lightened perhaps, that might help tie the whole shot together.

More please!

Nice shot. LIke the low angle.

Beautiful stretch of river Tim. The image appears to have a bit of a magenta cast. I think you could eliminate it fairly easy in PS with selective color.

Yes, nice shot Tim, I think I agree with Jackson's and Mel's comments. Dide you notice the "face" in the lower right conrner? Kinda cool!

Hi all,

Thanks for the comments.

Mel, you're right! ;) It's amazing to me me how I can I have this quiet, nagging voice in my head and not quite hear it - I must be going deaf. ;) (for my whole life) So, I tinkered with the image and it's looking better.

And, Jack, I tried to pull more details out of the shadows with using a curve adjustment and I also think that this is an improvement - I just wish that I could pull more out of those terrace shadows...

Terrific! Those changes really bring it together for me.

Beautiful shot, Tim. You were so lucky to see it in such a clean state. I've only seen it so muddy that you could barely discern the terraces, let alone see the details your shot reveals.

Beautiful shot indeed. The clarity of the water is amazing.
