This was taken below Hanging Lake near Glenwood Springs earlier this summer. As has been my luck with processing images for the web, this one now appears overly contrasty compared to the printed image. Anyway, I'd like your opinion of the shot.
Thanks for looking.

On my screen this doesn't overly contrast at all. Anyway, I like the overall "feel"; nice greens and silky water.

I agree. This looks really nice Rand.

Very pretty Rand!

I think there are some really cool things happening in the composition: nice flow top to bottom, lots of interesting details for the eye to focus on.
I might brighten the midtones a bit, try some different crops, do some dodging and burning to create a stronger final image.
Looking at it repeatedly, I keep thinking that the the composition as it is now is trying to "show too much". Try to bring it down to its essence... what is the "personality" of the waterfall?
For me, this is the riskiest part of editing and processing.... I made a photograph with one thing in mind, looking at it during processing, how can I turn it into a winner??
I think you have some excellent raw materials here for a really nice final image. Push it a little further.

All of the mossy growth almost gives this a northwestern feel. It's very nice to look at. Perhaps as Nat suggests, there are some more intimate compositions lurking in the scene, but I do enjoy the composition as it is.

I agree with all comments. Good work Rand. No contrast issues for me. Even some simple cropping could really clean up the edges and really focus this image.

I never imagined a scene like this in Colorado. The contrastiness seems to be fine on my monitor

Processing looks good on my monitor.
I really like all of the braids of the falls, and think that it's composed well.
As far as 'personality'....give me a break.
It's obvious to me that this has a split personality.
Well done, Rand!

I don't know anything about the personality of inanimate objects, but I DO know that I like this picture a lot. I don't see any contrast problems at all.

I'm cool with the processing. If it were mine I would crop out the split at the bottom. When my eyes went down the scene they suddnely went in two different directions. I think top 60% is excellent.
