Sunrise - Emerald Bay, CA
This shot was taken this past Monday morning while I was vacationing (or was I working?) in Lake Tahoe. As it turned out, this was the only morning the entire week I was there that there were ANY clouds! If you've not been there, put it on your list and get there asap! Lake Tahoe may have the most beautiful water in the nation for color and clarity.

This is really sweet, Wayne. Great composition and light, and you've done a great job with the processing. Very nice! :toast:

I think Lake Tahoe may be some of the coldest water in the nation too!

Wayne, I think caught this one just right. I have never been to Lake Tahoe but it is on my list!

I really like this composition. Did you take this up by the creek or down the path a ways?

Did you make it to the east shore and sand harbor area?

Ed, I made this image from a pull out on Hiway 89 and I'm standing directly above the stream that feeds into the lake just east of Vikingsholm castle. This was my first morning there and I couldn't see enough of the mountain behind me to even consider an assent to a higher position.

I did make it to the Sand Harbor area a couple of times, the first on Sunday as we were driving around the lake and then again on Thursday evening when I returned for a sunset shoot. As with the sunrises, there were no clouds at all and the resulting images were marginal at best but I'll probably post one later anyway.

By far my favorite location at Lake Tahoe turned out to be Secret Cove. The wildlife there was abundant and in many cases, without clothing!!

Very nice, Wayne, I'm glad you caught some clouds at least once on your trip :).

Very nice image! I like the graphical nature of this, with clouds and water looking almost interchangable.
