The only shot
Grass Snake.
Lousy pic but illustrates another story.
I recently said that
"if you sit in a hide anywhere for long enough , then something will happen."
I sat in a hide on a wader scrape the other day for 5 hours. I pulled a back muscle crossing a ditch, got cramp- stood up and put a rip in the roof canvas. Seat sank in mud and so knees up under chin for the duration. Saw one moorhen and got this one shot of a passing grass snake. Got out and filled wellies crossing ditch.
Great stuff.

that looks a decent image to me John, it's never easy to capture them mid swim. It sounds like you suffered for your art

Nice shot John. Hopefully worth all the travails  On very soft ground I've found an upside down plastic bucket + some padding works well as seat.

Thanks all.
Paul - exactly the kind of thing I would normally use- such as an ice box which you can keep your gear in too if traversing ditches etc !! Trouble is - my mate had told me there was a seat already there. We are not speaking
Cheers

I wish I had that shot. So I do not agree with you rlousy shot. I think you're spoiled
Good image. The only snake I've ever seen was a viper. Also a once in a lifetime meeting untill now.
