I have been trying to get pictures of this herd of deer for a hell of a long time and last Friday I finally got lucky. Light was poor under heavy foliage. A good sized stag crossed a path in front of me rather too close for the 500mm but I managed to get off a couple of shots none of which were any good due to a combination of poor composition and camera shake at slow speeds. This hind however was watching me from higher up the wood and I managed a couple of decent enough images. The stags are starting to roar now so the rut should be on us soon. Incidentally, this herd is on a reserve but are not fed or managed at all and with no deer fencing to restrain them they are totally free to roam at will. So......Wild or Not?

Congratulations for getting your shot in the end and a good one it is at that.
I really like the inquisitive look and all the greenery that frames the hind. Great angle too the way you're slightly looking up towards the animal.
An excellent time of year for sure. Here's hoping for many more deer shots on the forum over the coming months.
