The fine Grand Canyon shots popping up lately are motivating me to get back on top of my shots from this summer. The granduer of the Canyon and the whitewater are terrific, of course, but to me, the real reason to go is to see the side canyons. Here are the limestone narrows at the beginning of Matkatamiba Canyon.

Nice action shot. A tumble looks like it could hurt.

I had to study this image a while to get a sense of the scale; the inclusion of the climber really adds to this scene, and helps cauge the scale. The eroded rock patterns are really amazing, and they guide the eyes through the scene!. I like the perspective you shot from!, very nice image.

This is really cool and a bit disorienting. Great work, Jackson!

The lines are awesome, and the climber puts this shot over the top!

Thanks everyone! I think the high perspective and the climber's studly pose make this look more extreme than it is. But I'll take it!

Great shot, Jack! When we stopped there, I went to the upper area and spent all of my time there; about the time that I was ready to head back to check out the lower canyon, it started to rain and we headed for the boats. It looks like I missed a good one!
