I was out with my magnifying glass looking around when this coneflower caught my eye. I decided to photograph just the center where there are some interesting features- I'm researching what the various parts are.
This was one of my early tries with Helicon Focus. Details: 21 slices at 1mm intervals, 40D, 100 macro, f2.8 @ 1/125, focusing rail. The ghosting toward the bottom is caused by movement in a slight breeze. I used an umbrella to break the wind but up this close it must remain perfectly still. Helicon will compensate some for movement but apparently was challenged here.

Isn't it fun to shoot the Coneflowers up close? It's amazing what there is to see inside the head. Very nice, Ken!

I love the patterns and colors in coneflowers. Nicely captured, Ken.

Nicely done. I don’t recall ever getting 21 shots at a flower. You can probably hire out as a wind whisperer.
