re-post Mountain Bluebird
I posted this shot in the Avian Forum on NPN a few days ago and thought I'd re-post it here...

Hi All,

I just returned from a trip out West and this is one of a few new experiences I had with a new-to-me lens... A 600mm f5.6 manual lens.
Any advice on using this lens on a D200 would be greatly appreciated.
I have focus issues more often than not...
The Mountain Bluebird was shot with my Nikon D200, NIkon 600mm f5.6, on tripod with a Bogen Gimbal mount and Sigma 1.4 teleconverter.
Later I removed the teleconverter, and got better results on different subjects, but still had sharp focus problems... Hmmm.. my eyes, maybe??

Thanks for any comments,

Dave

Looks sharp to me, Dave! Very nice colors and details in the bird.

Nice comp and spectacular colors, Dave. Looks sharp at this resolution. I vaguely recall a thread on the NPN forum regarding focus issues and a D200, but I don't remember how it was resolved.
