Cicada on Bluestem
Not sure why I've gotten interested in shooting insects and crawly things lately, maybe because their all over the place this time of year. I was standing in some bluestem grass just looking around and spotted cicadas all over the place. It was kinda difficult getting a decent view of one through all the grass, but this guy stood out a bit.

Excellent shot Brad. Not one thing I would change about this one. Well seen and captured! :toast:

Yep, another winner. Beautiful warm colors, sharp, well-composed subject, and smooth background.

Takes me back to that little house on the prairie where I grew up . . . mostly. Summer evenings in Oklahoma were always filled with the sounds of Cicadas. Sadly, Bluestem grasses were less plentiful due to overgrazing. Nice image.

I really like this one Brad. Great color, detail, composition, and bokeh. I wouldn't change a thing either.

Brad, I think you have the composition just right on this one. Are you using a macro or a long lense?

Great shot Brad. The comp is good with the grasses leading the eye into the frame and the oof background has a lot of soft textures to highlight the subject.

Tom, I used my long zoom canon 70-300 @ 300mm. I really have been finding myself enjoying shooting more intimate shots. I have a macro lens on my wish list.
Thanks for asking, take care.
