Nankoweap View
Let's keep this Grand Canyon thing going! ;)

Here's recently scanned photo from the ever popular Nankoweap Delta, looking downstream in the late afternoon/early evening.

And, Jackson, Rob about had a heart attack (in a very quiet manner), when I climbed out to the third granary here. When I got to it, I was disappointed to find that there wasn't really anything there. But, as I was hiking back down to our camp, I realized why Rob was apoplectic - there wasn't anything under me for about a hundred feet...

Tim, great shot, you have captured the great colors in the rock. I climbed to this spot last September but we were there near mid day and the light was not as good as you have. Looks like your group may have camped just below.

Great light and a beautiful scene, Tim. I'd crop out that blank white sky.

Beautiful, rich colors, and I agree with Bret, crop out the sky.

The river takes such an interesting form here. The colors are very rich, but I agree that they are much better with the sky cropped out.

It's worth remembering that even if the graneries weren't their, this place is still one of the most steller views in the Canyon. I like the long lens take here, really narrowing focus to the river eddies and the walls. The light on the Redwall is perfect and beautiful. I agree that the sky's gotta go. Have you tried darkening the bright patch at upper right?

Thank you all for the constructive comments - I appreciate 'em.

I just received Tony Kuyper's luminosity masks. I'd love to just jump all over this photo (and, many more photos), and I will in due time. I'm afraid that if I jump too quickly, I'll really make a mess!

Tim!
