Back in town!
After a hectic week out west and a few days of hectic editing, I have a few pictures to share. These are from a SWMCC camera club trip out west to Bandelier National Monument, Mesa Verde National Park, Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, and Canyon de Chelley. A whirlwind trip to be sure, but a lot of fun.

Here's a link to the gallery (along with a teaser!).

Thanks for looking!

Tim, glad you back! Your gallery is really nice and sounds like you had a great time. I really like the shot of the ballon in Monument Valley.

Looks like a great trip Tim! Wonderful series of black and white images, and the clouds you had to work could not have been better. Very nice!

Be sure to check the fall gathering thread I posted on 9/11. Hope to see you there!

Great gallery Tim. I agree with Bill - the clouds make the shots. I wonder how you got the shots of Mesa Verde without the hoards of people in them. We were there many years ago and the crowds then were large. Well done...

Looks very cool Tim. It's such a great place to visit and photograph, I'm sure you could have gotten even more with more time. Your a lucky dog to have gotten to go there though. I'm liking your black and whites as well. Thanks for sharing.

What a wonderful portfolio Tim! As mentioned already the b/w work is very nice and the abundance of clouds in your shots makes me understand why I didn't have a single one in Tahoe last week, you had them all.

That SWMCC must be some group. Organizing a trip like this has to take a lot of time and logistical work to pull off (not to mention the money). Glad to have you back! :wavey:

Bill - wish I could attend the fall gathering, but it's probably not in the cards for this fall. Hope everyone has a good time, though!

Wayne - I never expected to get rained on in Monument Valley, but they had some really strong rain storms move through. It's so nice to be able to see the storms in the distance! Around here you never know about them until you're getting wet.

Amazing photo's Tim! Are some of these HDR's?
Posted by Tim Buchanan on September 27, 2008 at 8:17 PM
Aaron: there are only two HDR images in there - the Gooseneck image (above) and the one titled "Near Valley of the Gods" (2008-09-11_0901.jpg). The rest are just a single exposure.
