For someone who has never visited this area before what areas/trails should I concentrate on? I want to do fall colors . When do the colors usually peak? I would like to photograph waterfalls and wetlands.

Hmmm, that a good question.

Because we have had a draught during August, many of the trees have been under duress and so they seem to be dropping leaves early.

The 4th week of September and the first two weeks in October, as a rule, are great for color (without checking a real autumn color calendar).

There are a whole bunch of areas here in Northern Ohio that you might want to visit depending on the amount of time you have. If you can give me a time frame I will try to work something out for you.

Mike, you can check and keep an eye on this site that I found, from the Ohio DNR.

Hi Mike,

You can go here for a list of the hotspots in the park. There is also a link to a park map.

We had similar dry conditions last year and I got most of my best images in the last two weeks of October.

A variety of lodgings can be found in Fairlawn (West Akron) and in Brecksville.

Send me an email if you have specific questions.

Cheers,
Chuck
