Hi Everyone, Heading for RMNP, the first week in October. Only there for a couple of days. Would love any suggestions on trails and/or places I shouldn't miss. (We'll be staying in Estes Park.) Thanks in advance.

Jeff...you might want to post this question in the RMNP forum, also.

Jeff,

Yes, go to the RMNP forum and seek out Erik Stensland, who lives in Estes Park and seems to know RMNP better than about any other photographer in that area (and, he recently wrote that he's still discovering it)...

Enjoy and stay warm,

Tim!

Hey Guys, sorta embarrassed here, I was in a hurry posting the question, and translated MWNP into "mountain west" rather than midwest. Sorry about that! J

I lived in the Denver area for a about 13-months and frequented Estes Park and RMNP quite a bit. Two of my favorite trails were to Beirdstadt Lake and Cub Lake. You should still be there in good time to see some of the aspens too, so a ride south along route 7 (peak to peak highway) is also a good choice.

Have a great trip!

Hi Eric, thanks for the tips. Just checked some pictures of Beirdstadt and Cub Lake...looks great! I was in RMNP 20 years ago, so I can't wait to see it again.
