Snow Aspens
Just a small cluster of aspen leaves downed by a fairly heavy snowfall while I was in Lundy Canyon a couple years back now. It started out as a nice easy fall, but within a half hour it was really coming down. It saturated the tree leaves and limbs in the area to a point of causing some massive fallout.

Fantastic Paul. The contrasting color combination makes this shot very special. also the details in the leaves are wonderful.

I love the arrangement. I kinda wish that the leaves were in better condition, but I guess when you find this arrangement, ya gotta shoot it! Nice work.

Paul,

This is sweet! Great little arrangement of leaves, love the waterbeads. I like the fact the leaves are not perfect, which, with the snow, reinforces the perception of the leaving the fall season behind.

Nice arrangement of leaves... I particularly like the way the leaf stems pinwheel around the image. If there is any more detail in the brighter snow areas near the center of the image that would be nice, but this works nicely as presented. Well seen!

Paul,

I too really like the arrangement of leaves and the dew/water drops on the leaves make for excellent detail. Now since no one else mentioned this, perhaps it's my monitor (and I just got a new one recently,) but a good portion of the snow, especially in the UR quadrant, appears clipped on my screen. Also, I see a bit of a magenta ring around a couple of the aspen leaves. Hopefully it's just me, but does anyone else see it?

I really like this intimate little scene and I hope the clipping in the whites is just me. If it is, I guess I better re-calibrate..

Thank you everyone for the comments. Just happened upon this image and it brought about thoughts of the upcoming sierra trip.

Lon, you are right about the slight magenta edging. Although I had pulled 50% of the cast out I missed some edges that still had issues. I've made a change that should help. I actually do not see a tremendous amount of clipping, and really very little in the tiff. I do realize where I was getting all the magenta from too.....it was Velvia 100 and not 50.
