I found this area tonight while wandering around a slickrock playground looking for something else. As soon as I saw the arch I made a beeline for it and worked every angle I could find. This rather simple composition turned out to be the best of the bunch. I'll go back under different conditions as there is a nice composition which frames the entire Windows area, with North and South Window, as well as Turret Arch, all visible through this arch. I checked the topo and it appears to be an unnamed arch. I've taken the liberty of naming it Sunset Arch since it does glow nicely just before sunset.

Very nice Bret. The bits of white cloud add alot to this.

This is a really nice shot, Bret. The warm light and graphic nature of the comp make for a very pleasing image. Great find!

This is very nice Bret, the warm light on the Utah rocks always brings them to life even more!. Look forward to seeing what else you create using this Arch!.

Clean comp and classic beauty, Bret. Isn't there already a Sunset Arch in Arches? Or am I thinking of somewhere else?

Thanks for the comments!
Todd: There is a sunset arch over on the Escalante (I think that's where it is). It might be on Navajoland. Not in Arches, though.

Very nice frame within a frame, Bret. Great control of the exposure, too.

Really like the color and the details in the rocks.

Ah yes, that's the one I was thinking of. I think I've seen Guy's shot of it, maybe Tony's, too.

Nice discovery, man. Can't wait to see the Windows framed by Edge Arch!
