Did I miss a post or am I just getting old and blind?
I thought Preston had posted something awhile back
saying he was going to post some dates/locations so we
could make some plans...
but life has been crazy and I can't seen to find the post
other than Lon's Bay Area get together? Which I hear went well
If someone could point me to the link for the post ZI would be most appreciate...

Hi Nelcha, as far as I recall there was not a final post on the subject. For the most part here is what I do know. The plan is most who are making the trek will be in and around Lee Vining area from about 9/29 thru 10/5. So I assume the weekend you refer to is 10/4 & 5. I will be in the area and staying at the Gateway Motel. Here is my cell # too.

I'll be coming over Tioga late afternoon of the 3rd. I hope to make a few images in LV canyon and head up to Lundy or Dunderberg or somewhere in the general area, in which I'll be for 4 or 5 days. I'll be camping in my Sportsmobile. Cell is 805.886.9682. Let's meet!

I'll be in the area as well from 9/26 to 9/28, and then back to Bodie, and Lee Vining surroundings from 10/5 to 10/11.

There aren't any formal plans for a get together - I think just lots of chatter of when and where people are headed. Folks are arriving and departing on different dates, although as Paul mentioned, the weekend of 10/4-5 seems to be the common denominator.
What I was thinking would be to offer to meet for lunch at Nicely's on Friday the 3rd and perhaps a sunrise at Mono (Old marina - I'm tired of S.Tufa) on Saturday morning. Or perhaps lunch Sat, Mono sunrise Sunday. My schedule is still up in the air and I still haven't decided if I'm camping or moteling it.
Sounds like your window is pretty narrow Nelcha - and I believe you have the Bodie workshop starting Monday. How late are you getting in on Saturday? If you could come in a day earlier or the night before we could certainly meet up somewhere.
Anyway, if anyone wants to meet for lunch on Friday the 3rd, let me know. If not enough are coming up until Saturday, perhaps we could meetin for lunch then and play it by ear......"
I personally don't care to share my cell # in a public forum, but for those who want to meet for lunch or sunrise, please send me a note and I'll start an email exchange with cell #'s. I'll be driving a maroon Ford Taurus X (It's a Crossover, not the old sedan) I've also been accused of being an irresponsible photographer-driver as I sometimes veer across double yellow lines, miss stop signs and create generally hazardous driving conditions for other drivers - when I'm on a photo expedition. be warned!
And no matter what the weather and fall season brings, there will always be something to photograph. I'm looking forward to getting away.
Lon, thanks for posting this idea. I'm open for Friday lunch or Saturday. I can also make the Marina either Saturday morning or Sunday for at least one group of shots there. I have never shot there, so I will follow your lead on that location. I posted my cell # and have written others down too. See everyone up there hopefully at one time or another.

I will be heading up the afternoon of 10/3 and plan to be wandering the Sierra until 10/12. I am not sure where I will be, as it will depend on where the color is. I will be driving a white Ford F150 with a Northstar pop-up camper in the truck bed (a white, low profile camper). It is a distinctive rig. I will also be traveling with one of my dogs, a yellow lab. If you see me out there, stop by. It would be great to meet people.
I like the idea of lunch on Saturday, if that works for the gang.
