I woke up to rain but have learned that that does not mean the rain is everywhere....so I load up and take off for the Mountain.....Hood that is....knowing the fires were/are on the north east side I decided to check out the south side.......through the fog and rain fog and rain I was sure the sun would never break through.....
Then in the blink of an eye a huge surge of wind came and moved most of the fog away to reveal this scene which only lasted a minute or so.....I took about 12 shots of this all together and this is the only one that did not have waterspots on the grad filter.....it was misting heavily while I was shooting this..
I was pretty happy to have witnessed this......

nice shot darren. Love the textures and mood here. Often my best results come from outings when expectations are low.

Darren,
It's a nice and moody shot. The forground is seperated from the rest of the image snce you can't see in the mist in the foreground. I really like this.

Hmmmmm... I don't know..... the 177th pine tree on the right has three needles turning brown, tends to distract my eye..
GREAT image Darren! Oh baby, if the scene looks this good on a 2D screen, I could only imagine what it was like in person. Aren't you glad you decided to hoof it up there after all?

Beautiful Darren! I love these foggy sunrise scenes.
Love this shot. Can you help us all with more data ? What type (hard or soft and number) of graduated neutral density filter did you use and where did you place the filter line at ?
Thanks,
Andrew

Thanks for all the comments....
Andrew....
this was a 1 second exposure and I hand held my 3 stop soft grad and moved it during the exposure to eliminate the grad line!
