Bigger Daddy
I know there isn't a huge appetite for these extreme macro images on UKNP but Tom Smit did ask me to post this Crane Fly (Daddy Long Legs) image taken at 4x magnification. It is full frame and focus stacked from 3 images. A larger version is available here.

Canon 30D with MPE-65 macro lens.

f8, 1/160, ISO 100, diffused Speedlight on side-bracket.

All C+C welcomed.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for your special response. Beautyfull picture, sorry I can't help it. I hope there is a time I'm allowed to buy such a lens. Until then I will do it with my "normal"macro lens and extension tubes. I also watched the "big" version.
Thanks again.

I think it is fascinating to see a highly magnified view of the crane fly. Nice shot!

Hi Matt,

Stunning image. How the hell does nature produce things that tiny and delicate, but are so important to the animal/insect? Fascinating stuff!!

Thanks for sharing

Regards

Rob

great detail, though it's hideously ugly

Again superb detail. It would be great see more images stacked for greater DOF, stillness (and patience) permitting.
