SO I finally made it up to RMNP today after lurking around the forum for quite some time. I do not do a lot of posting, but after having met Erik today in his shop.. I said I would share.
Thanks to those that I met today and were very friendly!
This may not be quite as noteworthy as some of the other photos people have posted, but i am proud none the less!
As another newbie ex-lurker, I know how you feel, Nate. Thanks for posting. I'd be pretty happy if this shot were mine. The aspens are terrific and I like the unusual perspective, especially the pothole, which is something I'm not used to seeing in alpine images. The only part that isn't doing it for me is the top left: the silhouetted aspens attract my eye too much and lead it out of the frame. You might try selectively lightening them up a bit. Or you might play with an 8x10 crop off the left side; you can afford to lose some of the stone over there.
Thanks again, and welcome!

Nice shot. I like the colors and the low angle.

I really like this, Nate! The little rain pool reflection is perfect. It's a fresh take that 99% of us would've walked right by.

First off Nate welcome to the forum, and a nice way to start off your first post. As one person said bringing it in a little bit on the left may work well and give you a little off center placement of the peak and let your eye flow to the right side of the image. But this will also work as is, and is something to be proud of as Todd said most people would have not even found this perspective which is quite different.

Way to start out with a bang. This is an absolutely unique shot with a whole lot to like. Great comp, I like this as is. Even though Hallet's reflection is in the center, I like the X-lines the trees and mountain slopes create though the photo. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome, Nate. Nice entrance! I wouldn't mind a little more breathing room at the top, but it's a very minor nit. The colors, comp and clarity are all fantastic. Great view and very well executed.

The little nits aside, this is a great image, Nate. Nicely done. Welcome to the forum and I hope to see more of your work.

Great shot, Nate. Really like that pothole reflection.
I was there today too, which one of the 200 camera toting people there were you? I hiked to Notchtop, for my first time to that spot, in the wee hours but missed the sunrise by about 30 minutes.
