I've seen these critters around my home for the past dozen years or so, but never took the time to really discover what they were 'til about a year ago - Pseudoscorpions!
I remember when I first noticed these that I thought that my eyes were playing tricks on me (couldn't be a scorpion way up nort'!), which is why my curiosity never ran further. But then, one day, I did a google search and lo & behold. So, now I get rather excited when I chance upon one of these.
This little fellow is about the size of the tip of a rubber pencil eraser, maybe an 1/8" across. While you may think that I've created the perfect trap for it, I actually found this on the countertop in our laundry room, which explains the lint...
Pentax K20D, Pentax 67 135mm lens, ~6" of ext tubes, f/22, 10" exp, and significantly cropped...
Enjoy,
Tim!

Tim, that is a nasty little thing isn't it? Did your search indicate bite, sting, etc. If I saw one of these, I'd think tick on steroids. Nice shot. BP

Bruce - these critters are too small to be an issue for humans. But, I "mite" be concerned if I was a lot smaller!
