Wonderful illumination and a nice subject of equidistant trunks Eric, well done. When the fog deck is right at tree top height reaching down to ground level, during middle day hours with sun shining down a more vertical angle between tree branches into the fog that just glows everwhere strongly, one receives the best conditions in deep otherwise shady forest. Simply having well lit overcast above is marginally adequate. Damnation Trail is one of the best places in RNP for receiving those conditions because it is on a steep tall slope right above the shore.

Eric, the atmosphere you've captured is beautiful. Comp, light, and color is great too. Only thing I could recommend is keep an eye out fora red redwood. I'll have to remember to hike the Damnation trail if I ever make it up there.

Eric,
I really like the misty atmosphere and mood here. The comp is excellent as well, as is the vertical format that shows off the majesty of the trees. I'm not sure if this is a nit or not, because the mist could very well be at play here, but the trunks seem pretty soft to me. actually, now that I look at it again, it's probably just more a result of jpg compression for the web.
Very nice image, I'd be glad to have been there and captured this.
