My Favorite Tree
Hello All,
I have been shooting extensively with a Nikon D700. It truly is a great camera. I feel like I've went back in time shooting slides again. Yet don't be fooled. I was just in the Southwest and my sensor did get a lot of dust bunnies. I was careful changing lenses. Yet the electronic sensor cleaner inside I don't believe is that useful.

I'm enclosing a photo I shot a couple of weeks ago in eastern NY State, my original home. I processed it in Lightroom 2. I used the Neutral Density filter in the develop module on the image. This is such a great tool. I love Lightroom 2.

Any comments on these images would be appreciated.

Happy Autumn Shooting :toast:

Hi Scott. I love lone trees and this one has character. The fog or haze gives the image even more interest. Connecticut has so many trees, but very few lone trees... at least in my area. The CT Association of Photographers is running a trip in three weeks which includes scenics along RT 22 in NY. Hope to find as nice a tree as this, but with fall finery.

Hi Patricia,
Good choice for going up Rt. 22 in NY. I'd presume also you will be going to Bash Bish Falls in Copake Falls. Take some back roads in Copake and Hillsdale. Try Yonderview Road off Rt. 22 in Hillsdale. I believe Columbia County has some of the best Autumn landscapes in all of the Northeast and New England. Here is another image of that lone tree that same morning.

Scott....

Very dramatic work! The neutral density effect really lends to the image! :toast:

Hi Scott! I know, I know...I'm rather slow on the commenting but here it is, these are REALLY nice!! My favorite is the second one. I kind of get lost in it!!! I don't understand the neutral density filter in Lightroom (yet).
