Found this link in another forum.

Probably more great new features in this update than in any previous CS version, and the new ACR 5 is really something. I know folks moan and groan about update costs, but it comes down to about $10 a month to have the latest and greatest of everything all in one package - that is less than what a single roll of film and processing used to cost. If you are interested in the best image quality, there really is no question. If not, then you don't actually need any form of Photoshop to begin with - not even Elements - just shoot jpgs and take your memory card to Wal Mart or Bedfords to get prints made, or not even that if you just want to share via e-mail or internet. Digital is a lot cheaper than shooting film ever was...

Here is another top 10 new features in CS4.

One of them is a focus stacking feature that sounds a lot like Helicon Focus. Anyone know more about that?

Yes, it is the same deal as Helicon but I'm curious as to why the examples I've seen have some serious out-of-focus parts to them? There is a great blending component too, including color and density blending. So many great new toys!

Rod, thanks for the link, I checked the videos posted on the Photoshop user site last night. Some of the other neat features I saw were the non destructive editing that is now possible in the new raw converter. A few I really liked were the adjustment brushes and the graduated filter tool. It makes adding a graduated neutral denisity in raw, pretty cool! The dodge and burn tools in Photoshop seem to be much more usable now. There are many more new features and the new program appears to run faster than CS3.

I have to agree with Tim about the value of the updates. It has about 18 months since the release of CS3 and I ordered my upgrade last night for $169 bucks with the discount offered to Photoshop Users members.
