Michael Tapes over at his RAW Workflow site is offering a free download of a utility that easily extracts the JPEG image that most cameras embed into your RAW image files without having to fire up your image editor. This can be advantageous for folks who want to send quick emails of their files or just to view quickly without having to fuss with an image editor. No more shooting RAW+JPEG files for me anymore!

You can read more about it on this 11 page .pdf manual. The utility download is available at the link posted above after a simple registration.

Finnally! Don't tell my girlfriend. She'll demand her pictures now. Thanks John.

John, this is great. Both my wife and I downloaded the software. It works great. We can now view her 40D files in Windows"My Pictures" without having to go to Bridge or LightRoom.

Can't thank you enough for the link. It will save a lot of time and hassle. :wavey:

You're quite welcome!
This has been a real blessing to me, too.

Having trouble finding the program on my computer to do the capture. Will download the adobe info and review. My son found the program. He somehow had it on the screen with my photos, hightlighed the photo with the program, and shzam!!!

He said it was a "shell" and other stuff. Old guys and technology takes some time for catch-up. Seemed to be very fast. Only made a 1.5 mb or so jpeg. Will see if that is adjustable on the adobe. Thanks for the site. Larry
