Capitol Peak last Friday. Only about 50 aspen in 1 grove down low and another 50 in a grove up high had changed so when sunset happened I did not even try to expose for the aspen groves in the foreground, but went instead for the dramatic light on the peak with the storm clouds behind it.
And the results speak for themselves! Stunning view.

Here's the low grove, it looks like this coming weekend to possibly Tuesday should be ripe for this area.

Great light on both #1 and #3. I really like the color on the last one. A classic view for sure!

That last one is great! If it were me, I would still try to pull some detail out of the darkness at the bottom, but I don't think it matters that much with such a compelling peak and sunset.

Taken from somewhere near Snowmass Village Don?

Very nice Don. I prefer #3, but they're both really nice.
Both are excellent Don, but the second one is just sensational!!! The color of the light with the subject matter is just stunning. That's one for a frame, a big frame.

Love the light in the last image!

I'm liking the last one too. And like Jack, I think you should pull some detail out in the FG, especially the trees.

Don, great shots! Good to see you on Sunday. Hope you got some shots at RMNP! I am planning on retuning this weekend and shooting at Maroon Lake and Capitol Peak.

Oh yeah, awesome light Don on both 1 and 3. I agree with Paul and Jack about opening up the shadows in the lower part of the frame on #3. Nice comps and yes a really big frame!

And if there's a way to open up the shadows and reveal the aspen, I'd throw in another
