Whooper swans + REPOST
The whooper swans have started flying over Fair Isle now and are a great sight. This was a grab shot in the morning two days ago, luckily I had some warning they were coming from all the honking!

Nice comp but in need of some form of highlight recovery Adam.

Whereas most BiF will require some positive exposure comp I find swans in the main require either none or some negative EV comp.

All on different Wing Beat the flight Sgt would be having a fit on that score, though Adam just a great shot I cannot get them here were I am they don't fly over us here.

Very nice composition, but I agree with Andy about the highlights.

Andy,
Thanks for posting this, letting us know that our friends the Whoopers are heading this way again. Guess I'll be taking a trip down to Caerlaverock soon!

Thanks for your comments. I agree about the highlights needing some recovery. I've brought the exposure down -0.29 (original was about -0.1 I think) and increased highlight recovery in LR a touch to 6 (was 5 in original). All seems fine with levels, hope it looks better to the eye too...
My name's Adam by the way Tom! The pink-footed geese are also heading south in large numbers - hundreds have been seen flying over here the last few days.

very nice composition, not sure if the repost has made much difference to the highlights though, hard to tell at this size

The difference isn't huge, but I didn't want to go too far and get that over processed "Raw Shooter look"...
