Local Fall Color in my town.

I'm not crazy about the branches across the top, but I feel that it's better with them than without them.

Your thoughts.

I like it Dan. I think you're right about the branches across the top - if I crop them off the image loses something. It's like the branches create a canopy of sorts, framing the image. I also think the path is important because it makes me feel like I'm walking along the trail myself.

The most intriguing part of the image though has got to be the trees and the varying autumn colors. We all see things a little differently, but I'm wondering what the scene looked like nearer the end of the path - just the trees?

This makes me want to get up to my local hills and get out of the house!

I like the scene as is too, including the overhanging branches. Lon is right it gives a bit of a canopy look to the total framing. The leaf covered path gives a small addition to the scene with what appears to be a lightly traveled area, making it more secluded. Dan the only thing I might be tempted to do would be to clone the small white branch out on the lower left of the scene. Otherwise, the framing, colors, structures, and intriguing small path work very nicely.

Thanks Paul and Lon. I would clone out the branch if I had the skill, but the foreground is so detailed, I feel it would be obvious.

I looked at the image prior to reading your comments, and I have the same feeling about the upper branches. I either want more of the branches with some space or have them cropped. I would guess you had to frame it that way to exclude a bright flat sky. I would favor a crop. Great colors and great detail in the scene. I like the image.

I like the branches on the top too Dan. Also like how it blends from red to green to yellow to orange. The dark trunks make great contrast.

Nice work, Dan! I think a slight crop from the top down to just a smidge above the upward curving branch on the right side will still give a nice feeling without too much being lost. I really like how the trees appear to be dancing. I've noticed that in many of your tree images and find it most intriguing. I agree with Paul regarding cloning that white branch. If you used the clone stamp at a small radius and proceeded [i]very[i/] carefully, it could be done. The fall-dry colors are very nice. This image is very serene and has a nice dynamic; if that makes sense.

Really like this Dan! It really reminds me of walking along a nearby trail. The trunks on top are a slight distraction and I think they could be easily cropped out, but they aren't a huge deal. Really love the detail, colors, and contrast in this

Hello Dan,

Your work with these trees is always a treat to view. As a result its not surprising that I love this one too. The inclusion of the path is a nice touch. Makes me want to take that trip into the forest.

Regarding the branches at the very top - I wish there was more room above them. However, since that is absent, what do you think of cropping a little section off the top to eliminate them entirely?
