The wader hide finally paid off. Only 4 hours this time with a new seat ! The light was slightly CJ but not too bad. I tried to get the right amount of DOF to convey the habitat and I don't think its too far off.I was again plagued with reflection shots which I'll post later. (never saw my snakey friend either)

A lovely composition John, I really like these birds but cannot sem to get close enough to one to get a decent shot. I commend your 4 hours!! But it was well worth it, the lighting, pose and setting are all superb.

John, I reckon this is a fantastic shot. Composition is superb, right amount of DoF, lovely lighting, action and a great subject. What more could you want? If I had to find a nit (and lets be honest, on this forum its a given!) the bit of oof vegetation at the birds breast is a little bit distracting... but heh, if you want to sign the picture over to me I'd be very happy to take it off your hands!!!!
Nice one.

An image I am envious of John. A difficult bird to get close to at the best of times, light etc. spot on.

Thanks for your interest.
Seems like the hard to get stuff is not the "flavour of the month" at times as some will appreciate..
I was quite pleased with this because the slowish shutter got the action surprisingly well under the conditions.

I know ! If you want to take it out 4 me you're welcome !

that's an excellent shot John, I really like it. It has a lovely natural feel and shows the Snipe off very well.
