I felt inclined to put another post here (nothing really new though) of the 'real' Bluestem, in this case Big Bluestem also referred to as Turkey Foot. They are quite distinctly different I know now, now that I am a wee bit more educated. Since I done a good job of misidentifying it in the last few posts.
Taken a couple of week ago along with the Head Indian image. Just thought I would try to get a little credibility back to my dumb-self.
Hopefully in the near future I can get more identifying shots of all the wonderful grasses that are making their way through the Autumn season.

Lovely colors. This photo looks like a good candidate for HDR. Photomatix works very nicely or you can do it in Photoshop.
I had forgotten that Big Bluestem is also called Turkeyfoot grass because of its characteristic plumes. It's been far too many years since I studied field ecology at the Oklahoma University Biological Station!

Nice silhouetee Brad. I think it looks fine just as it is. Look at those awns just waiting for the seeds to fall to dig them into the soil.
Best,
Don

You're sure finding some beautiful gradients.

I especially like this one Brad. Great composition and fantastic colors. The out-of-focus sun is a nice touch, and it somehow doesn't compete for attention. This is a new favorite of mine from your collection.

Gobble, gobble :), well done Brad, you're doing a fine job with these type of images.

Ditto what John said, word for word.

You're going to have to get a bigger portfolio for all this new work Brad! The power of the color in this series has been amazing. Keep up the good work.

In order to underscore the name/title of the image I think I would want to remove the two bottom right spikes, to make this look, indeed, like two turkey tracks! The colors are wonderful.
