To get folks interested in what PS-CS4 brings to the table I found this video on Adobe.com:

From what I've seen so far, I'm not sure this is a must have upgrade. The jump from CS2 to CS3 was very big but while there are a few nice tools (new way dodge and burn can preserve tones is great), I don't see it being 200.00 in greatness at this point....

I think it is going to be worth the $169.00 (NAPP 15% Discount). Since I don't use lightroom, I really like the advances in ACR. Being able to adjust exposure, vibrance and other key adjustments in ACR in specific spots of your image, non-destructively is really cool in my opinion. I like some of the nice workflow adjustments as well. The videos don't go into all the new changes, but after reading more in depth on the NAPP website, I think it's worth the upgrade for me. Perhaps not everyone.

But the upgrade of $200 when going from CS2 to CS4 sounds very worthwhile! I'll be doing this for sure...

For some more in-depth info on the new features in PS CS4 read this:

Take special note of the "Depth of Field Blend"! If that's doesn't get ya fired up maybe OpenGL driven Image Navigation will. With image file sizes getting bigger all the time this will be MOST appreciated!!

The more I read and see in video demos the more excited I get!!

I agree Rick, it looks to be much faster with CS4 taking advantage of the GPU. Geoff, I'd say it would be very worth it for you to go from CS2 to CS4. Combining all the great upgrades in CS3 and CS4 would be a homerun.
