I promise these will be the last shots from me from Bear Lake this Fall. I headed up to RMNP yesterday afternoon, and camped overnight. I knew there was going to be cloud cover, just didn't think it'd be raining, and was hoping for a nice sunset. Original plan was to hit Nymph Lake for sunset.I changed my plans when I reached Bear lake, and thought this "famous" spot would be worth another shot in these conditions.

Vertical version. Quite a difference from the clear blue skies I was shooting from the week prior to this, these conditions I much rather prefer.

I'm not at all tired of beautiful images like these, Nick!

But...wait... we have more!
Nice Nick,,, the colors are really starting to pop. I may go back next weekend. Any idea how it looks at Dream? Then again as Jack said there are many more lakes in Colorado.

I like how the overcast conditions really brings out the color of the trees.

Great shots there Nick. Clouds were a little higher than the previous Saturday afternoon. And I like the way the light falls on the sides of Longs peak. I am getting convinced that late afternoon is better than mornings up there.
As for more. Why not?! I can look at some more. I was back up there again today.

Very nice shots Nick. Love the colors and the comp.
Wise choice to camp up there Friday night. I headed up this afternoon and went straight for the Sheep Lakes entrance. Got about 1/4 mile beyond the entrance and traffic slowed to a crawl. It took about 20 minutes to get as far as the Sheep Lakes viewing area, and traffic was bumper-to-bumper and was crawling as far as you could see. I did a u-turn in the parking lot and headed home. It's pure insanity up there on the weekends. I won't make that mistake again!

Part of the issue today was it was free day on top of the fall colors. This morning I could have easily made some money selling my parking spot at Bear Lake, but just found a family coming in and told them I was leaving.... they were quite happy. I made it up to Bear Lake this afternoon and it wasn't too bad. However all the traffic leaving at around 4p was quite amazing. Skies looked promising for a while then went clear.

Nice work! The vertical crop gives more of the feeling of height.

Very lovely. I prefer the horiz version. Beautiful comp and glorious colors. I never tire of mountain fall foliage shots.
