As predicted, this year seems to be epic in Vermont! Just spent Sunday morning in Groton State Forest and it is ablaze with color. 80%-90% peak. Much earlier than the several past years. We're due for a great fall. The reds are incredible. This weekend was wet with not even a breeze. It was perfect! I'll be leading 8 people from W. Virginia on the 4-7 of October. I hope it continues. Forecast for the week calls for showers, overcast and temps in the high 50's and mid 60's. Sounds great for the intimate landscapes, macro and such. The mornings have been socked in with fog. Thought many would be interested. Happy shooting.

Mitch,
Michelle and I were roaming around Groton this AM too. I agree that the color in Groton State Forest and the immediate area are very nice. A lot of reds. I think next weekend will be great in that area, so you should have a great time with your group. I also found similar color in Washington, and Chelsea, but just east of Groton, there was hardly any color. I hit the Woodstock area Saturday, and it was very dull in that area. Probably two weeks away for peak around there.
I like days like today! Wet, but not really raining, and almost no wind. You can shoot all day. Just don't get the sky in your shots!
Here is a shot from Kettle Pond this morning.

Thanks Rich. Perhaps I'll see out and about. I think I'll take a few days this week off from work. Thanks for the update. It's nice that we live in a long state and can follow the change south. Have a great season!
