Hi All,
After about 5 minutes the Snipe got up and started feeding. Luckily for me it stayed in about a 1m area of sun, if it had gone any furthur it would have gone into an area of shade created by my car. I would not have been able to move as it would have gone. A fascinating creature to watch feeding, especially the way it vibrates it's head woodpecker style to dig in the mud!
A lovely detailed shot Rob. Good exposure, nice highlight in the eye and a well demonstrated piece of behaviour. I think I would like a bit less of the bottom of the frame and a bit more to the right of frame but still a nice image.

Yes a nice Snipe shot Rob.
I still find the colour little strange though even for early morning. It raises an interesting point about when a colout cast becomes natural light at the time and vice versa.
The bird is quite big in the frame and I reckon as Rob says too some off the bottom and definately more on the right if possible. I personally try to get a head looking right about half way, but I know it doesn't always work.
Good action shot though.
Cheers
John

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your comments. re the crop I can change that as I have room to do so, but cropped this to give room for the "virtual" bill that is buried.
John again I have toned the magenta down in processing, the light was very red that morning, but left as took it looked to have a magenta cast even though that is how it was.
Regards
Rob

Hi Rob
very nice shot of a Snipe feeding only gripe for me is too much foreground. I have no problem with the colours as its one of those things that only you know what it was like when you took the shot
