Last Hummer Standing
Okay...so he wasn't quite the last one I saw this year, but he was the last and only one I've seen standing on a flower. This little guy buzzed around and visited one Dahlia after another while I was busy taking some shots of the flowers.
Unfortunately, I blew some of the whites in the back Dahlia, and I had to crop to vertical from horizontal, but I still like the Hummer's pose, standing on the petals and wings outspread.

I like it. Nice colors and very crisp. I like the red flower in the background, but I also might try a tighter crop of just the white flowers (maybe a square) too see if it becomes an entirely different image.

Beautiful and unique capture, Toni. I agree with Darren that cropping the red flower might give this a completely different feel.

I like the sense of scale I perceive here that is typically present from "hummer" images. Nice one Toni.
