Now the process of getting a place
Apologies in advance if the below appears a bit draconian but, as always, there is a commercial outlay that needs met therefore firm/paid attendance is required as it reduces the outlay from my bank account.
I would appreciate a prompt response this year as this allows me to confirm with Jari (coming from Finland) ASAP.
1) Places are limited in number (84) and due to the venue's HSE and security arrangements your attendance requires prior confirmation with Tom. This is a requirement of the venue - so no gate crashers please
2) Regardless of whether you are a UKNP Member or guest, email 'uknp09' at 'btinternet.com' now with the subject line of UKNP if you want to attend; this reserves you a place in the relevant queue. Please declare if you are a Paying Member or if you are a Guest in the email. No declaration will be taken to indicate that you are a Guest. Please configure your email to ask for a read receipt if you require one.
3) Tickets are priced at £26 per Member and £32 per Guest payment but, in additional to this, if you are not a WWT member, you will have to pay the WWT entrance charge (about £8) – this is a WWT requirement. However providing you get that ticket stamped by myself on the Sat whilst at the conference you will get free entrance to Slimbridge on Sunday 22nd Feb 09 hence make the weekend of it as Slimbridge is a wonderful place.
4) A member may ask for 2 additional tickets at the same time as themselves at the appropriate rate. This member must pay for all tickets on the one cheque. Please name the other people (for the venues list) in the initial email.
5) Payment is by cheque only (unless your name is Phil). I will supply my address details when I reply to your initial email.
6) Current Members (and their 2nd/3rd ticket) will get preference until Oct 22nd 2008; past that everybody has equal priority and I will start working through the guest/lurker list in order.
7) VERY IMPORTANT: All cheques must have your name, address, landline number and email address on the back of the cheque. I will confirm receipt of any cheque by replying to the email address on the back of the cheque, no email address == no reply == no place. I need this info to return the cheques if the conference does not get its minimum number pf attendees (i.e. cover its costs) by the set date of Jan 5th 2009.
8) Once the check is paid and we have gone past the 5th Jan 2009, in the event of you being unable to turn up, I will only refund the money if we can get somebody else to take your ticket(s).
9) Cheques will be cashed on, or around, the start of Jan 09 when the Conference is confirmed.
To clarify
Members are those that pay a subscription/membership.
Guests and Lurkers are everybody else.
It is intended that any surplus this year is used to offset the cost of next years venue.
If you seek any further clarification on the above please PM Tom.
