We are still a few weeks away from our fall color season in the Lone Star State, but with everyone posting imasges here I thought I'd add one too from west Texas. These maples are found in the Guadalupe Mountains. You normally do not expect vivid fall color in the desert, but hidden in these desert canyons is some of the most vivid color I have seen. This one is from a couple falls back. I plan to make it out there again around Halloween to see if I can find color again.

I used to live in Midland and remember these well. Another cool spot for fall color in Texas is Lost Maples State Park near Utopia. Beautiful capture, Darren.
Beautiful image Darren. The lighting seems unusual on the trees. Is it a result of vignetting (looks like this could be 75mm on a 4x5, which has some vignetting without a center filter)? It's certainly a very different area than what I'm accustomed to up here! Nice shot.

Joel-
Yes it was the 75mm lens on the 4x5 (no CF). I had a 2 stop soft grad across the sky which also added to the effect.
