Hello,
I am trying to find information for landscape (mountains & lakes, ponds) within the Catskill Mts. area. I've been to the Beaverkill area several years ago but am hoping for other locations.
There are a lot of places - Katterskill falls area is one of my favorites. Also, any hike up along Devil's path is great during fall

Where about are you looking to go the Catskills is a large area. I live in the southern part in Sullivan County. Close by you have the Bashakill wetlands, Slide Mtn., The Gunks by New Paltz. the Beaverkill as you mentioned. Sundown/Peakamoose Mtn. , Ashokan Res.
If you would like more info contact me and I'll try to help (ntrphotos@yahoo.com).
While the Catskills are a large area, I second the suggestion to check out the Katterskill falls area near Hunter. In particular, I like North-South Lake State Park. It is close to the falls and offers many hikes with excellent views in many directions. I especially enjoy the views of the Hudson Valley from the site of the old Catskill Hotel.

Arnab,Charlie & James,
Thanks so much for your input. Some interesting locations that I will definitely try to map out. Yes, the Gunks are just wonderful and Minnewaska is a gem. I'm hoping that my timing will work. Tonights news suggested that the sugar maples just might go brown this year due to heavy spring rains followed by prolonged dry period. Let's hope not.
Hopefully I'll find some small ponds for "misty morn" shooting.
