Galapagos to Grouse
Well, after three days at home last week after a cracking trip, it was back up north to try and find this beautiful bird (IMHO), and I wasn't disappointed. Who says you have to go to far away lands for great wildlife

Not too sure about the expanse of blue? - is that Danby moor and the sea behind

Think i agree about the blue a the top of the picture.

Cheers Mitch.

I wanted the contrast of the sky just to break the BG up, as I felt the BG would just be too much.

No, sorry Mike, it was a long way from the sea, very long

I like the pic a lot, including the blue, but may be less of it.
I agree about your statement about British Wildlife...if only it was easier to get to!

I agree . better with a tad less of the blue. Maybe none at all even.?

that's a lovely shot. It would probably be more 'conventional' without the blue, but that's not to say it would be better.

the Grouse is a beautiful bird, and this is a beautiful shot, but I'd personally lose the blue totally

cheers

Lovely shot Stephen and I don't mind the blue at all.

Lovely! I don't mind the blue either, it adds a little difference. Beautiful detail on the feathers.

Beautiful image, the inclusion of a bit of sky really adds to the overall image. :toast:

The blue of the sky does change the feel of the shot but it's a lovely shot whichever you go for.
