Drove Highway 92 from Blue Mesa Reservoir to Crawford this past weekend for probably the first time since I was a kid. The road follows the north rim of the Black Canyon for some time before heading north to Crawford. The colors were great! Aspen were still a mix of yellow and green but the scrub oak was mostly red and the rabbit brush added some nice yellows as well. This drive will definitely be included in future fall colors outings as well! Here are a couple shots I got along the way. Thanks for looking!
This one is taken where Curecanti Creek flows into Morrow Point Reservoir.

Here's another from an overlook along the drive looking toward the canyon.

Two beauties.
I love when the hillside goes into the mixed colors. I think some people live for "peak," but I think mixed looks great, too.

Thanks, Lance!
Yep, last weekend definitely was not yet peak, but the mixtures of reds, yellows, and greens was still really nice to photograph.
