My, those are large Tetons ...
So, I was just exploring some comps of the Tetons one morning during my fall trip last week - in a place that I thought was pretty obscure and rarely traveled. As I was snapping away a truck comes rolling over the ridge and takes up a prominent spot in my composition. Talk about adding some scale to an image! (145mm used)

Love the title, Jesse - perhaps because I know what "Teton" actually means.

Cool image. I think I know exactly where this is. I like the scale provided by the truck. Glad to see you're out exploring some new areas!

And i thought this was a family oriented site...
I like the scale too Jesse. Looks like a cool location, i hope to make it up there this winter to carry on an annual tradition. Sky looks kinda milky or hazy.

Did you politely ask him to move... from across the valley? Love the scale and color contrast. Hope you got one you can use.

For those curious about things. from the interweb thingy :
The origin of the name of the mountain is controversial. The most common explanation is that "Grand Teton" means "large teat" in French.

Nice stuff Jesse

Milky/hazy indeed Stan. That about sums up my time out there. Another dry, clear, blue-sky fall trip - as if that's really something to complain about!!

Hmmm, I actually wasn't thinking about the French origin, but I guess my post title is indeed very appropriate (or actually it's not).

Bret, it WAS great to explore this area - both the park and surrounding forest roads. Grand Teton doesn't seem a like a drive-thru, highway park to me anymore.

By the way, this shot was taken on an unmarked 4WD road near Shadow Mountain (just north of Antelope Flats). The main road up Shadow Mountain is a great destination if you're visiting the park.

Nice shot. I like the color and the truck really does add some scale.

Size doesn't matter.

Looking forward to seeing more from you as you explore the less traveled areas of the park.
