Swirling Sunset
After being shut out in the Tahoe area for spectacular sunsets I was anxious to capture one here in ole KC. After scouting several locations one night with no luck I raced to this spot to catch the forming clouds. Love the sky but I'm only marginally pleased with the foreground (actually the mid-frame). But for me it was great just to watch the sunset on a rural country scene.

A little lower camera level might have helped balance earth and sky. It looks like the grass is picking up some of the color from the light. It would be interesting to see more of that interplay of color.

Wayne, I really like the colors and the clouds. It looks you like you have done a fine job blending the two exposures. Can you tell us which blending technique you used?

I agree with your own observation Wayne. The sky looks great, I like the hedge post and comp of the image as a whole. I seem to go from viewing the post to the sky with not much holding my eye in the mid-ground. But I hear ya, I love going out and watching the sunset over our wonderful rural countryside this time of year.
