 Black-necked Grebe
Thought it would make a change from Great Crested with juvenile!!
This was taken in La Brenne on a recent visit to France. Unfortunately the hide was rather high up from the water and no other approach was possible

Hi Kim,

Lovely looking bird, look at that eye!!! A real shame the hide did not allow a better angle as a lower PoV would have been better. Still a nice image as is, love the youngsters on the back!

Regards

Rob

Nice shot Kim, PoV doesn't detract too much IMO, the youngsters on it's back make for a very pleasing image.

That's a great capture I like the reflection and the strong eye colour.

A nice catch Kim, that eye is wonderful, and the youngster on its back makes the shot for me.

Great shot.

Your choice of the spot metering has made the grebe glow againts the water nicely.

Gorgeous! I might be tempted to clone out the grass stem coming from the tail.

Thanks again for the comments - cloning - I usually make a pigs ear of it  :wavey: but I agree it probably would look better!!
