Above is McClure pass on Friday (10/03/08) afternoon, as a storm moves in. If only there was some snow on those peaks...

Probably be snow by Mon or Tue, but accompanying wind may destroy the scene. Looks like I was 1 week too early when I passed through the area last Sunday (seems impossible to time right, would head up tomorrow but weather looks poor).

Don't sweat the lack of snow in this shot, it kills!

Those are the exact same storm clouds I saw when I was at that spot last Saturday. Only you've got much more yellow! :frown: Beautiful shot.

Stunning image! Love the clouds and the trees really pop out.

Pretty shot! It will snow tonight, and tomorrow. It already looks like a whiteout on top of Pikes Peak.

I second what Todd said. Great perspective, no snow needed.

Great shot indeed. I love the color explosion here. The clouds really add to this.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. As annoying as the rain was at times, it made for some dramatic sky conditions. Before it started raining, I was worried I'd be dealing with flat and boring overcast skies.

That said, the light was (unfortunately) kind of bleh up on Kebler Pass later in the afternoon... I'm glad I spent a lot of time shooting around McClure, as it produced the best shots of the day.
