Sunrise @ the dike
It was mostly cloudy this morning in CB/Kebler, but the sun popped out just as it cleared the Eastern horizon, and I happened to be shooting the Dike when it did. This is a three-image blend. Had to crank the quality down to 76 to get this under 200k. Hopefully it doesn't suffer too much.

I bet the original is something to see! I like the layers of color in this. I am not sure about the peak on the left though. I think I would like to see more of it or non of it. Maybe lowering the the values in the sky might help focus attention back on those beautiful trees.

I'm with John about bringing the sky down a bit, but otherwise I love the trees. Great layering effect.

Aside from what has been said about the sky this is really fantastic, Arlen. You'll have a sweet print on your hands if you ever choose to print this.

I really need to ask people their names...I was the guy with the white truck that morning too.
Pretty overcast skies for the most part.
I have a stitched pano that I took that morning. I'll post it soon.

Yep, nice shot.
The morning light doesn't light up the dike itself but the it backlights the trees very nicely. I might try to increase the overall contrast curve.

Thanks everyone for the comments/critiques! I'll fiddle w/ the sky a bit more.

Chuck - I recall seeing the truck and a young lady with a camera. Next time I'll stop and introduce myself too. :wavey:
