Bishop Creek Aspen
From Tuesday near Lake Sabrina. I think Tuesday and Wednesday looked better than yesterday for some reason. And no wind. Though the colors were still there it just didn't feel as vibrant yesterday. This one lady asked me yesterday if I got any good shots. I was like, "It could be better." and she looked confused. I didn't mention that I had already been there for four consecutive days.

Very nice Richard! I love the mix of colors and comp. I think I saw your car off chalk bluff rd on thurs late afternoon. Looking forward to seeing more from your trip.

Thanks Cory. I don't think that was me, I was at Lee Vining on Thursday afternoon i think.

It was fun to take that bumpy ride in the Buttermilks. I'll have to train next time so maybe we could hit up Horton Lakes.

Richard...nice color, but I think the image is too bright...the yellows appear clipped, even if they are not actually. I think some color burn would do wonders to this one.

Thanks Kartik.

Richard,

I really like the "looking down" perspective here. I would agree with Kartik about the brightness, but perhaps only as much as a 1/2 stop. And at least on my monitor, the yellow color cast is pretty strong, but easily adjusted and of course to a matter of personal taste.

Too bad you couldn't make it to Lee Vining on Saturday.

Richard,

I must agree with Kartik about the brightness as well. It just seemed to lack contrast to me, but it could be that it is too bright.

Thanks guys. I have been automating my processing via actions and it really cranks up the contrast. It has worked pretty well for my travel stuff but I could see how the exposure looks a bit overdone sometimes for nature photos.

It would have been nice to get up to LV on Saturday but that was in the opposite direction of my house. :frown:

Hi Richard,

I really enjoyed this take on the sierra aspens. It is different and for that matter very interesting. The intimate feeling is very strong, I specially like the unruliness of the composition.

The brightness can be easily brought down and if you are so inclined, I'd also suggest removing some of the yellow.

Very fine work.
